York Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP will be photographing Richard Noble OBE at a forth coming event in Finningley near Doncaster as part of a promotional event for Project Bloodhound, Richards lastest Land Speed car which has a target of 1000mph.

York Photographer Rob Cook work is to be featured in an exhibition being staged by one of the top professional photographic labs in the country. Rob Said

"This laboratory sees huge amounts of professional photographers work, so when they asked if they could use some of my wedding and portrait photography to display, I was very pleased."

Unfortunately he wasn't the millionaire dishing out the cash, but one of his pictures did feature briefly in the background of several shots. The picture of a computer mouse was on poster in the background in the office of one the managers in the show.

Rob Said "It's amazing where my work keeps turning up, having featured in a TV show it also opens up a secondary rights claim on that image. However the fee is not likely to get me on the next show as the star, unless that £1 wins the lottery!"

York Wedding Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP has just announced that Wedding and Portrait Customers will now receive free pictures for use on Facebook of every picture they order from their Portrait session or Wedding Album. Rob said.

"I'm happy for customers to display my work on their Facebook pages, in return for them telling their friends where they had their pictures done."

York Portrait Photographer Rob Cook raising money for Comic Relief by donating several studio portrait Vouchers for family Portrait sittings at his Strensall Studio, to York Sainsburys as prizes for their in-store competitions.

York Wedding Photographer Rob Cook has recently accepted two prestigious awards for his Photography. The first was awarded by the BPPA (British Professional Photographers Association) for a Press Picture taken at an international Motor-sports event, of an exploding race engine.

The second was for a Wedding Photograph and was awarded at an International Photography Conference held in Egypt and is the picture above on the right

York Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP has made headlines again. Rob was a featured in the culture section of the York News and Times paper. The article showcased Robs recent successes including becoming Industrial Photographer of the Year for the second time in succession. Rob gave a brief interview with their journalist from which the article was produced. Rob said.

“Receiving press coverage for this award is the icing on the cake. It’s nice to have recognition for this award, but what is far more important is producing images which exceed my clients expectations.”

York Commercial Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP got stung whilst working for a client recently. Although it was physical pain, not financial pain he endured. Rob Takes up the story.

“I was shooting some pictures for a specialist scientific picture library of bees and beekeeping. Despite wearing the full spaceman suit I got stung on the cheek, when I held the camera to my eye (it pushed the mesh up against his face). It must be 25 years since I got stung last, and I’d forgotten how much it hurt. I carried on by holding the camera at arms length, and shooting like a tourist, I managed to get some good shots”

York Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP recently sold an obscure picture of a bank in Finland to an Irish Newspaper via an agency. Rob Said

"I never cease to be amazed at who buys what for what usage. The Picture is of the sign above a high street branch of the Bank in Turku Finland. I took the shot whilst in Finland 2003 when I was covering the FIA Drag Race there. Quite what the article is about, I'm not sure but it's better that they use one of my shots, than someone elses."

York Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP hit the headlines whilst photographing Europe’s largest American car show in Vasteras Sweden for a specialist UK magazine. When the organisers asked if Rob would mind doing a short TV interview to demonstrate the international nature of the event, he happily obliged.

"I felt that it was the least I could do for them as they had been really helpful in organising this assignment." Said Rob

Rob was more than surprised to hear that what had started out as a local news story ended up being run on national evening news several times.

Rob said "It must have been a quite news day!"

York Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP has just won the title of Industrial Photographer of the year for the second year running. The Title was awarded by the Yorkshire region of the Master Photographer Association. Rob said

"Winning this award twice in succession is a great honor, Industrial Photography is a difficult discipline as you have to take either a fairly mundane object or an obscure process and capture the essence of it in an eye catching and interesting way"

York Commercial Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP has just picked up his 100th Professional award. Rob said

"Entering awards is hugely important to me as it allow me to gauge my work against other photographers. Recently I haven't been able to enter as many as I used to as I have been getting asked to judge them, but to rack up the 100th is a milestone"

York Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP celebrated receiving his Fellowship in style by also winning the Peter Grugeon award for the best Fellowship submission from the British Institute of Professional Photography

York Wedding Photographer Ron Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP recently ventured down under to photograph a wedding in Sydney Australia. Rob was asked to help Ozzy Bride Mel White pick her wedding photographer whilst she was working in the UK. She decided that the only way to get the pictures she wanted was to fly Rob in for the big day. Rob said about the day

"Shooting in Australia was great, White Beaches, Blue Skies and a great looking bride. Its a privilege to be chosen to shoot any wedding, whether its 5 mins up the road in York or on the other side of the world and its a responsibility I take very seriously"

York Commercial Photographer Rob Cook FBIPP FMPA QEP was recently awarded the title of Nikon Industrial Photographer of the year by the Professional Photographers of America. Rob was invited to attend the award ceremony in Las Vegas, but unfortunately he could not attend due to a previous work commitment in Sweden. As part of his prize he received the latest Nikon Pro Digital SLR camera. Speaking of the award Rob said

"It nice to win awards for individual images, but to receive this award for a body of work was fantastic and the camera also came in handy!"
